I've been trying to practice some "affective prayer" lately, which is apparently traditional Christian meditation consisting basically of resting in God and/or a more "active" passive assent to God.
One interesting thing related to this is that I was listening to some classical music while traveling home from Thanksgiving Day festivities. My wife was driving and I was dozing (I'd spent the whole day eating, drinking good belgian ale, and hanging around a firepit, so I was in good shape). Ive never really understood classical music at all, and I alway knew it maybe had more to do with emotion than with technical understanding of the music, but what I realized is that you can use the music as a vehicle to drive affectation.
